From News Room to Board Room

For more than a decade, Ms.Ameena Sainu Kalarickal has worked in a profession built around people, their stories, struggles, opinions, conflicts, and changing realities.Her journey began in broadcast journalism, where she built a distinguished career with leading Malayalam news organisations including Asianet News and Mathrubhumi News. As a television journalist and news presenter, she became known for her confident presence, articulate communication, editorial judgement, and ability to remain composed in demanding situations.

During her tenure as Chief Broadcast Journalist at Asianet News, she was involved in news presentation, political reporting, interviews, live coverage, and major public events. Breaking new ground in broadcast journalism, she became Kerala's first female television journalist to successfully complete the prestigious Defence Correspondents Course by the Defence Ministry of India.

But behind the newsroom, the cameras, and the breaking stories was something that increasingly shaped her perspective: an understanding of people.Years of listening to different voices, meeting people from diverse backgrounds, witnessing difficult circumstances, and communicating during moments of uncertainty gave her a deeper appreciation of the human side of every story. Today, she brings that experience into a very different space and that is Mental Wellness.

As the Managing Director of Mindmaris, Ms. Ameena brings together communication, leadership, emotional intelligence, and organisational experience to help shape a mental wellness environment that feels both professional and genuinely human.She believes that people approaching a psychology clinic should experience more than efficient services. They should feel respected, comfortable, understood, and cared for from the moment they connect with the organisation. Her role therefore extends beyond administration. She works closely with the team to strengthen professional standards, develop a healthy organisational culture, improve the client experience, encourage accountability, and create an environment where mental health professionals can do their best work. Her leadership style is warm but decisive. She values clear communication without losing sensitivity, discipline without losing compassion, and growth without compromising professional values.
