Psychiatric Social Worker | Client Relationship Officer | ORC Trainer
Where Care Meets Connection
Sometimes the most important part of seeking mental health support is having someone who knows how to listen, understands what you need, and helps you reach the right professional without making the process feel overwhelming.
That is where Fathima V N plays an important role at Mindmaris Counsellors Private Limited.
With a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and a Master of Social Work (MSW) specialising in Medical and Psychiatric Social Work, she works as a Psychiatric Social Worker and Client Relationship Officer, supporting clients throughout different stages of their mental health care journey.
At Mindmaris, she serves as a human bridge between clients and the clinical team. From understanding a client's initial concerns and helping coordinate the appropriate professional support to appointments, treatment follow-ups and continuity of care, she helps make the experience more organised, comfortable and reassuring.
For her, client relations in mental health care is much more than coordination. It is about recognising that behind every appointment is a person who may be anxious, confused, vulnerable or simply unsure about what to do next.
Her naturally warm and empathetic approach helps clients feel heard and comfortable while navigating professional care.
Beyond the Clinic
Fathima's work extends into child and adolescent development, education and community mental health.
As an ORC (Our Responsibility to Children) Resource Person in Palakkad district, she contributes to programmes focused on children's well-being and development. Her experience includes conducting counselling and guidance sessions, career guidance programmes, life-skills education and training initiatives for students, adolescents and teachers.
She has also contributed to programmes in special-school environments and participated in the organisation and coordination of school programmes, college camps, training camps and rural community outreach initiatives.
These experiences allow her to understand mental well-being not simply from an individual perspective, but within the wider context of family, education, relationships and community.

The Person Behind the Role
What distinguishes Fathima's approach is her belief that people should never feel like a case number.
She understands that asking for psychological or psychiatric support can itself be a difficult step. Her role is therefore not merely to guide someone through a system, but to make that journey feel more human.
She values listening before responding, understanding before guiding, and treating every individual with dignity, confidentiality and respect.
Whether she is supporting a client between consultations, guiding an adolescent through an important stage of life, or working within a community programme, her focus remains the same: helping people feel understood, connected and supported enough to move forward.
At Mindmaris, Fathima represents an essential part of the philosophy that mental health care should not only be clinically effective — it should also feel human.
