Psychologist | Mental Health Advocate | Speaker
At Mindmaris Psychology Centre, we value psychologists who look beyond presenting symptoms and take a genuine interest in understanding the person behind them. Samuel Joseph Antony brings this perspective to his work, with a particular interest in human behaviour, emotional well-being and the experiences that shape an individual's personality, relationships and outlook on life.
He holds an MSc in Psychology and an MBA in Human Resource Management. This combination of academic backgrounds gives him an interdisciplinary understanding of people, bringing together psychological perspectives on human behaviour with insights into interpersonal relationships, workplace dynamics and individual development.
Samuel believes that human behaviour cannot always be understood at face value. Our thoughts, emotions, reactions and decisions are often influenced by experiences that may not be immediately visible. This understanding shapes his approach to psychological support, where he places importance on listening, exploring individual experiences and creating an environment in which people feel comfortable expressing themselves.
His professional interests include emotional well-being, anxiety, stress management, emotional regulation, interpersonal relationships and personal development. He is particularly interested in helping individuals understand their emotional responses, recognise behavioural patterns and develop healthier ways of relating to themselves and others.
Beyond his work in psychology, Samuel is actively interested in mental health advocacy, public speaking and academic engagement. His involvement in paper presentations and knowledge-sharing activities reflects his enthusiasm for exploring psychological concepts and communicating them in ways that people can understand and relate to. He believes that psychological knowledge should not remain confined to academic discussions or clinical settings, but should reach the wider community and contribute to a more informed understanding of mental health.
At Mindmaris, Samuel aims to contribute to a therapeutic environment where individuals are not defined by their difficulties or past experiences. He values the importance of being heard without judgement and believes that a meaningful therapeutic connection can help people look at their lives from a different perspective.
His approach reflects a simple but important understanding: people do not always need immediate answers or advice; sometimes, they first need someone who is willing to listen and understand their experiences. Through his work, he hopes to encourage greater self-awareness, emotional understanding and personal growth.
Because sometimes, the first step towards meaningful change is finding someone who truly understands your story.
