Ms. Devika S Nair

Client Relationship Officer | MSW | Mental Health Social Worker

Before therapy begins, there is often a conversation that matters just as much — the one that helps a person feel comfortable enough to begin.

At Mindmaris, Devika S. Nair is often part of that first connection.

As a Client Relationship Officer, she serves as an important bridge between clients and therapists, helping people move through their mental health journey with greater clarity, comfort, and continuity. From understanding a client's initial concerns to helping connect them with the appropriate professional, her role brings a distinctly human touch to the therapeutic process.

She holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala, along with an Advanced Diploma in School Counselling.

The Human Connection Between Client & Therapist

Seeking psychological support can be a deeply personal decision. A person may arrive with anxiety, confusion, hesitation, or simply the feeling that something is wrong without knowing how to put it into words.

This is where Devika's natural ability to listen becomes particularly valuable.

She takes time to understand the person behind the appointment — their concerns, expectations, emotional state, and the kind of support they may be looking for. She then helps create a smooth connection between the client and the clinical team.

Her role does not end with scheduling an appointment. She helps maintain communication and continuity between the client and therapist, making the overall experience of seeking mental health care feel more organised, approachable, and supportive.

She is known for a personality that is naturally warm, patient, sensitive, and deeply understanding of people's emotions. Clients are given the space to speak without feeling rushed or judged.

Sometimes, that feeling of being genuinely heard can make the difficult first step towards therapy considerably easier.

A Social Worker at Heart

Her professional foundation in social work shapes the way she understands people.

Rather than seeing an individual only through a particular problem, she considers the wider world around them — family, relationships, social environment, emotional experiences, available support systems, and everyday challenges.

Before joining Mindmaris, she worked as a Child Welfare Officer at ATMA Foundation, Thrissur, where she was involved in the care, protection, and developmental support of children.

Her experience included child welfare, psychosocial support, structured counselling support, life skills education, and programmes promoting children's emotional and social development.

This background has also developed her particular interest in working around the needs of children, adolescents, and families.

Life Skills & Emotional Development

Beyond her role in client relations, she has a strong interest in Life Skills Education.

She believes emotional well-being is strengthened when people learn practical abilities that help them navigate real life — understanding emotions, communicating effectively, building healthy relationships, making decisions, managing challenges, and developing confidence.

Her professional interests therefore extend across mental health awareness, psychoeducation, child and adolescent well-being, emotional resilience, psychosocial support, life skills development, and community mental health.

Making the Journey to Therapy Feel Human

A therapist may lead the therapeutic process, but the experience surrounding therapy also matters. Having someone who listens, understands the concern, coordinates care, communicates clearly, and remains approachable can make an important difference to how supported a client feels.

That is the space Devika occupies at Mindmaris.

She connects the people seeking help with the professionals providing it — ensuring that between “I think I need help” and “I have found the right person to talk to,” there is someone helping make that journey a little easier.
