WHY DO I FEEL SAD FOR NO REASON
"There is a time for departure, even when there's no certain place to go." – Tennessee Williams
Have you felt pain that you do not understand or cannot explain, pain that you cannot pinpoint to a particular area or situation? It's just there, and it looks like it's not going away. Sometimes you burst into tears on a bright, sunny day filled with all the things you could have enjoyed, but somehow, it is not what you can have. Like a bird in a cage, watching all the rain, watching the sun rise, the bright skies, the birds singing at dawn, watching life as it lives in front of your eyes, but somehow, you are only able to watch, looking at everything but never part of it.
As the journey continues, you understand that happiness does not come easily to you, the smile on your lips does not reflect your eyes. Unable to find rest, you move forward. Solace seems farther beyond the horizon.
The solace you seek cannot be found, though, no matter where you look for it unless you look within. For it is there you can find true peace, safety, and rest. Rest that you seek, the rest that you deserve, the rest that seeks you. For no one has seen you, your thoughts, and all your feelings like yourself. For no one will journey with you till the end of the path but you, yourself. And no one will help you find the happiness that you seek, but that which you gift yourself.
"Gift" is a good usage here. It reminds us that what we experience is truly unique and of high value. Even in sorrow and joy, our emotions remind us how human we are—to be able to cry, laugh, hug, and kiss, to express our deepest reflections that we experience in the present with someone.
So why do I feel sad for no reason? The possibilities are endless. All I truly know is that without bad, good cannot exist. A hero’s potential is always determined by the villain’s strength, and without sadness, I cannot truly appreciate my joyful moments. By essence, nothing is bad nor good, but the imbalance of both is where the concern lies.
